OUR STORY

As a former white-collar professional, I had the opportunity, relatively early in life, to ask myself a question: “What truly makes me happy, and what do I want to do next?” I was fortunate enough to be in a position to explore the answer, and that is how the story of XIX began.

My interest in fragrances was nothing new. Building on my university education in chemistry and many years of professional experience, I went on to study fragrance through both academic and practical training, working with specialists and spending time researching and experimenting. Over time, I moved beyond selecting ready-made scents and began developing fragrance compositions of my own.

At first, I was simply making fragrances for myself and my friends. It was something I loved doing, although it was also a rather expensive hobby. Eventually, I wanted to share what I was creating with others. And so, XIX Candles was born. I chose candles as the first way to bring my fragrances to you, simply because I love how a scent can become part of the spaces we live in and accompany us in everyday life.

Today, XIX is an independent brand that turns its own fragrance compositions into candles made in small batches. But I don't see its story as limited to candles alone. Over time, I'd also like to explore what happens when fragrance meets different materials, design ideas, and creative collaborations.
